Appointment of New Non-Executive Director
(London – 23 June 2009) International Power announces the appointment of Mr David Weston (50) to the Board as a Non-Executive Director. The appointment will take effect from 1 August 2009.
David Weston is a member of the Executive Committee of Anglo American plc where he is the Technical Director, having previously been Chief Executive of the Tarmac Group and Anglo Industrial Minerals. Before joining Anglo American in 2006 he spent 25 years at Shell where he held a number of senior management positions. He is a chartered engineer.
Sir Neville Simms, Chairman of International Power, said “The Board is very pleased to announce David’s appointment. He brings extensive international experience, gained in capital intensive industries, which will be very valuable to the Group.”
