International Power hosted an analyst conference in Melbourne, Australia on the 9-10 April 2008.
Australia is one of our three major merchant markets and Asia is a core long-term contracted market. In aggregate these two regional markets contributed just under 20% of our profit from operations in the year ended 31 December 2007.
Stephen Orr – Commercial Director, International Power
As Commercial Director, Stephen is responsible for International Power Australia’s trading activity in electricity and gas, commercial support to business development, and the business’ regulatory positioning. He was responsible for the development of initial trading in the Victorian electricity market, and the development of the commercial functions of Hazelwood Power, and later International Power in Australia.
With a 35-year career in the power industry, Stephen is well placed to represent generators on the Reliability Panel, the body that sets standards for electricity supply reliability across the NEM.
