The Grove is located within 300 acres of parkland and woodland, with an 18 hole championship golf course, superb indoor and outdoor leisure facilities including a world class spa.
There has been a house on The Grove site since 1400. In 1753 it was acquired by the Hon Thomas Villiers, Earl of Jersey and British Ambassador to France, who subsequently became the First Earl of Clarendon. As the Villiers family grew in political stature, so invitations to The Grove house parties became some of the most sought after in the country. In fact the ‘weekend in the country’ was more or less invented at The Grove and it subsequently became the venue for resolving the major political issues of the day.
Today The Grove is a five star hotel with excellent accommodation and meeting facilities.
